In 1998 Leadership Newark was born out of a desire to strengthen the city of Newark’s civic infrastructure. Today, Leadership Newark continues to create a network of emerging and established leaders with the drive, knowledge, skills and connections needed to improve Newark’s future. Leadership Newark paves the road to expanding service for the common good. The two-year Fellowship uses an experiential education model to develop ones knowledge in areas, which have an impact on the community at the state, county and local levels. The network is 400+ strong.

Newark Mentoring Movement’s mission is to transform their community by preparing to succeed in life, through positive mentoring relationships. Their vision is to expand mentor-ship to reach 10,000 youths annually in Newark by 2017 through their partnerships with local mentoring programs.
National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) is a private, woman-owned social enterprise with dedication and commitment to our community, our clients and the people they serve. The mission of NCSI, formed in partnership with the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS), is “to serve as our country’s premiere resource in an overall effort to eradicate harm and loss in organizations and communities across the globe through increased awareness and training, the creation and implementation of national standards and the integration of fully-managed risk management programs, inclusive of background screening.” NCSI has one goal – to protect vulnerable populations..
The Clubhouse is a community center in Newark’s Central Ward focused on education and recreation programs for adults and youth.
Center of Hope are community based centers that allow access to City services, wellness, and enrichment opportunities where people live and work.
